Mentoring – GAIA
For Single Handed and Double Handed Rods
At the moment there are 23 Qualified Mentors in the UK for GAIA. I am proud to be one of them.
The training and procedure is quite rigorous and it makes sure you understand the communicative skills needed to help someone become an instructor.
I am the only one in and around London to be on the list, however I do travel to most places as, like everything else, to be at the top of your game, you need to hone your skills and keep them sharp.
Mentoring is not just about preparing you to become an instructor, so you can teach someone to go fly fishing. Being able to perform different casts proficiently in a fishing scenario is just the foundation block. You will learn about, risk assessments – health and safety – session planning – teaching skills – equipment – fly fishing most destinations around the world & etiquette. It will prepare you for your role as a good instructor with all the right attributes.
When you join GAIA as an associate member you will be given a list of your nearest qualified mentors, or you may choose to come along to one of our regional workshops that takes place on a regular basis.
As I am also an ADB Level 1 coach and a ADB/UKCC Level 2 coach I can offer the complete service to make sure you meet all the relevant criteria.
Call or email me for more information or just a chat.
