For Single Handed and Double Handed Rods

Intermediates:   You are now catching fish but becoming frustrated by those blank days. You may also want to catch a trophy fish. Part of my lesson plan for you will include:

• Making sure you have a good understanding of the items in the beginners section – when in doubt, go back to basics.

• Improving your knowledge of equipment, giving you a deeper understanding of leaders, knots, droppers and associated end tackle.
• Assessing your  abilities so we can progress from there.
• Improving your accuracy.
• False casting and shooting line for greater distance. This will cover more water and improve your catch rate.
• Jump Roll Casts.
• Casts that give greater change of direction to cover more fish quickly.
• Teaching you the double haul.
• Looking at line densities, how and when to use them.
• Making use of the weather and wind conditions to your advantage.
• Basic entomology, so you you can try and “match the hatch”
• Recommending good DVDs and books for your type of fishing.
• Email and telephone contact, so you can let me know your progress.
